At Jensen Eye Associates, we are dedicated to providing exceptional vision care with a focus on precision and personalized service. Our team of experts harnesses the latest advancements in eye care to ensure optimal eye health for our valued clients.

Dr. Peter Jensen started practicing ophthalmology in Nampa in 1976. His daughter, Dr. Johanna Jensen joined him in 2004. They practiced together until Dr. Peter’s retirement in 2021. Dr. Jensen provides comprehensive ophthalmology services including cataract surgery, glaucoma surgery and management, oculoplastics, and management of retinal diseases including diabetic care and macular degeneration.

Dr. John Lamers, Dr. Joy Johnson, and Dr. Carrie Burris joined the Jensens and provide comprehensive optometry services including complete eye exams, contact lens fittings, scleral lens fittings, and management of many eye conditions: cataracts, glaucoma, dry eye, diabetic screenings and more.

Our doctors:

Dr. Joy Johnson, OD graduated from the Pacific University - College of Optometry in 1986. She worked at Shopko in Nampa for many years and joined Jensen Eye Associates in 2022. She is married with three children and three grandchildren.

Dr. Johanna Jensen, MD finished her ophthalmology residency at the University of Washington in 2004 and joined Jensen Eye Associates. She has two children and a Lab named Ernie. She is an avid runner, hiker, camper, and skier. When she is at home, she enjoys gardening and caring for her chickens.

Dr. John Lamers, OD graduated in 2001 from the New England College of Optometry. He is sociable and good-humored with a genuine passion to get to know his patients. He grew up in Spokane Washington and later moved to Helena Montana. He enjoys hiking, fly fishing, camping and hunting with his sons Lukas and Nate. Dr. Lamers moved to Boise in 2001 and joined Jensen Eye Associates in 2019

Social

Dr. Carrie Graham Burris, OD has worked in eye care since 2003. She began working at Jensen Eye Associates in 2010 as a technician and then in 2020 went to the University of Pikeville College of Optometry and graduated as a doctor of optometry in 2024. She has two grown children, one mildly evil calico named Calliope, and enjoys bowling, crochet, and karaoke.
